SW94 WINDFALL TAKES SECOND PLACE AT 2014 RORC TRANSATLANTIC RACE

I’m very proud and satisfied of this initiative, which brought together different nations and cultures all united by the same passion for sailing.

Charterer SW94 Windfall

Three thousand miles and 11 days of thrilling competition marked the High Spirit team’s participation in the RORC Transatlantic Race 2014 onboard Southern Wind 94 Windfall.
Windfall completed the race, securing a second position in elapsed time and first in IRC Zero Class ahead of the Volvo 60 ‘Spirit of Adventure’. In preparation for this event, the Russian High Spirit team undertook an intense six-month training programme designed for them by the brand-new Southern Wind Sailing Academy in collaboration with the VMB RYA Training Centre.
For some of the participants, this was more than just a race, as it represented the final step in the achievement of their Yachtmaster Ocean Certification.
