Southern Wind has celebrated the 16th edition of the much-awaited Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy in Porto Cervo from May 31st to June 4th, 2022 within the cornice of the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta, an event organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda since 2008 that this year has had a new and prestigious Title Sponsor.
As always at this unmissable Porto Cervo regatta event, participants have enjoyed four days of sailing in Sardinia’s stunning Costa Smeralda followed by a glamorous social programme ashore in the relaxed family atmosphere that only the Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy could offer.
Six Southern Wind yachts’ were docked in Porto Cervo: RP-Nauta 100 Morgana, who has raced in the Superyacht Division of the Giorgio Armani Regatta, SW102 Egiwave, SW100 Cape Arrow, SW96 Sorceress, SW82 Ammonite, and SW82 Feelin’ Good.
Confirming SWS’s vocation for building versatile yachts, participants could either race in the SWS Trophy, proving the performance potential of their yachts with the support of an experienced and professional crew, or enjoy the exciting programme dedicated to the Rendezvous fleet, which offered less racing-oriented owners the chance to enjoy sailing in the company of family and friends.
At the end of the four days of sailing, Sorceress and Ammonite were awarded ex aequo for the excellent show of sportsmanship and pure sailing enjoyment that they have given here in Porto Cervo, and in the racing fleet Morgana won for the best performing Southern Wind yachts and third prize in the Superyacht Cruising Division.
