SW94 Kiwayu

KIWAYU, hull n° 1 of the SW94 mini-series was created for a passionate sailor who wanted joy and excitement at the helm. The yacht won an Honourable Mention in the 23rd edition of the ADI (Association for Industrial Design) Compasso D’Oro Awards in the “Design for Environments” category for her saloon. Here Nauta Design created an open living area with spaces for dining, lounging, a TV corner and a studio all on one, unencumbered level. This layout met and even exceeded the owner’s brief for a real social area to enjoy with family and guests. In 2017-2018 Kiboko benefited from an important refit managed by the Southern Wind Customer Care team. The project aimed at upgrading the functionality and aligning the design of the yacht to the shipyard’s new projects. The refit included but was not limited to: modernising the transom design, hull, superstructure and boom painting, installing new running rigging, modifying the deck hatches, renewing the exterior upholstery, designing a new cockpit table, installing new teak on the deck in the guest cockpit, upgrading the electronics and the entertainment systems. Interiors were also renewed and an additional pullman bunk was installed in each twin guest cabin. A second 100l/h water maker was installed along with an additional 10kw generator.
