After 11 days 6 hours 30 mins (and 46 seconds) at sea and just over 3000nm covered, we’ve crossed the finish line receiving the inaugural ice cold glass of rum punch as we arrived on the dock. The ARC has lived up to its reputation as being a ‘must do’ for any keen sailor.
Crew Member, SW102 Farfalla
SW102FARFALLA crossed the finish line of the 30th edition of the ARC taking second place in real time, from Las Palmas to St. Lucia
While they may have missed out on first place, the competition would have been hard to beat, as the VO65 ‘Team Brunel’ took line honours and completed the race in a record breaking 8d 7h 39m 30s, beating the previous record set by the super-maxi Farr 100 ‘Leopard’.
Despite losing two kites, the first on day 4, the second on day 9, there were few other setbacks and with plenty of whale sightings, a well fed and happy Owner and crew and some fantastic sailing, the ARC has lived up to its reputation as being a ‘must do’ for any keen sailor.
