Chartering a Southern Wind yacht is a remarkable experience, made even more special by a unique location: the North Sea. It’s here that the SW102 Farfalla, one of the most reputable yachts in the luxury sailing yacht charter market, spent her 2018 summer season.
Enchanting landscapes, rocky mountains, waterfalls and picturesque villages: a charter week in Norway is a rewarding experience both for the eyes and the heart. We invite you discover an itinerary suggested by Farfalla’s crew whose enthusiasm, experience and passion will make your charter unforgettable.
DAY 1 ALESUND
The city is famous for cod fishing and salt cod production. We recommend touring the city and getting a little exercise by running up to the famous viewing point Aksla located on the highest point of the city.
DAY 2 OYE
Øye is a small village located at the end of the Norangsfjord. The surroundings are spectacular and the village is a favourite spot for mountain climbers who come to explore the mountains in the area. There is a very charming hotel in the village where we recommend having dinner after a guided walk. A hike is, of course, a must, but we also recommend taking an excursion by van to explore the spectacular Norangsdalen valley.
- Hiking with a local guide on the Leknesnakken mountain or the famous Slogen mountain
- Biking through the spectacular Norangsdalen valley
- Visiting Nærøyfjord by RIB
- Dinner at the Hotel Union
DAY 3 GEIRANGER
Geiranger is a small village located at the end of the famous Geirangerfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a very beautiful area, just sitting on the deck enjoying the spectacular surroundings will be a great experience. Geiranger is excellent for kayaking and for hiking up to one of the mountain farms high over the Fjord.
- Take a guided RIB-safari on the Geirangerfjord then hike to one of the mountain farms high over the Fjord.
- Rent a little electric car and go sightseeing on your own all the way up to the famous mountain Dalsnibba
DAY 4 TAJFJORD
After spending the day in Geiranger it is time to just sit back in the guest cockpit and enjoy a beautiful sail out the Geirangerfjord towards the Tafjord. At arrival you can anchor right next to your own private waterfall! Enjoy the evening in these picturesque surroundings. The next day it’s time for an adventure: we highly recommend whitewater rafting in the beautiful river Valldøla, a trip that ends right in the Fjord.
- Private whitewater rafting in Valldølariver
Sardinia is one of those rare places in the world where the air is clean, the mountains are still wild, the sea is crystal clear and the local people live to 100 years or more. The traditional dishes typically include no more than three or four ingredients; all produced on the island. And, of course, a bottle of locally made wine is always nearby. The classic Italian song Felicità – ‘happiness’ – sums up the Italian love affair with simple food. It’s a song about the joy to be found in a sandwich and a glass of wine. - Lady Owner SW82 Feelin’Good
Our anchorage in Motu Vaiorea is in crystal clear water 8 meters deep with the pounding surf on the outer reef just two hundred meters away. On the other side of us is a lush tropical jungle with white sand beaches and water so inviting to snorkel and dive. - Owner SW82 Feelin’Good
